Objective: To empower students with the knowledge that nutrition plays a key role in one’s health. Nutrition education via individual counseling sessions and outreach events can help students to make informed food choices that promote a healthy weight and overall well-being.
Nutrition Education Sessions
Individual Nutrition Education Sessions are non-medical and free to all students Each session consists of a 60 minute one-on-one confidential appointment with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The session may include goal-setting, strategy development and an action plan. The session will not address nutrition-related medical issues like eating disorders, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or gastro-intestinal disorders.
To request an appointment for a Nutrition Education Session please email Jody Margolis, MS, RDN (email@example.com). Please note email isn’t a secure form of communication and should not include protected health information (PHI) like medical conditions.
For Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) appointments to address medical-related nutrition issues please call UCI Student Health Center at 949-824-5301. You will need to schedule an appointment with a Primary Care Physician who can then refer you to a dietitian. Please visit https://shc.uci.edu/services/specialties/nutrition for further details and any questions related to medical insurance coverage for nutrition. For any other nutrition-related questions, please call 949-824-9688.
