Understanding Addiction– This workshop provides a scientific look into the roots of addiction. You will have the opportunity to engage in conversation around how our perceptions of addiction affect the cultural and institutional response to those who have a Substance Use Disorder.

Intro to AOD– If you are wanting to learn more about the basic concepts and harm reduction techniques that surround Alcohol and Other Drugs, this presentation is for you.

Nicotine: Vaping & Tobacco– Nicotine is an addictive chemical that can be found in tobacco products as well as our modern e-cigarettes (vapes), but do you know the effects of nicotine? This presentation will review the risk factors associated with nicotine addiction and provide resources for those who are considering quitting.

The History of Cannabis & What We Know Now– This workshop will provide a brief history of cannabis in the United States, which informs the culture, political ideologies, and scientific findings we understand about modern cannabis.

Rave & Festival Drugs– Throughout this presentation you will learn about the anatomy and effects specific “festival drugs” have on you and harm reduction tips to mitigate these risks: MDMA, LSD, Psilocybin, etc.

Prescription Drugs: How do they work? Just because a drug is sold over the counter or is prescribed to you, doesn’t necessarily make it safe. In this workshop you will learn about how popular prescription drugs are designed to be consumed, the importance of taking drugs that are prescribed only to you, and how Big Pharma affects the way we consume drugs.

Healthy Communication & Relationships: This interactive workshop explores healthy vs unhealthy relationships, sexual boundaries and consent. Scenarios will be presented for discussion and students are encouraged to ask questions (anonymously if preferred). (1 hour)

Sex and Communication 101: This interactive workshop will discuss sexual health myths, STI & birth control basics, & boundaries and consent. Come prepared to share what you know and learn new things. Lots of small group activities. (1 hour)

HIV/AIDS Basics: This workshop focuses on the basics of HIV infection including transmission, prevalence, symptoms & the importance of HIV testing. An HIV+ speaker will share his/her personal story. (1 hour)

Love Jeopardy: In a fun and interactive game of Jeopardy you will learn about birth control options, STIs, woman’s reproductive health, men’s reproductive health, first time myths, LGBTQI health. (1 hour)

Dating Apps: Are you new to dating apps or already have one but want to improve it?  Dating apps are more popular than ever but it is important to have an appealing profile and to practice safety measures. We will explore the most popular and unique dating apps and share suggestions and tips. (1 hour)

Behind Happy Faces Mental Health Curriculum: This program can be done in one session (3 hours), two sessions (90 minutes each), or four sessions (45-60 minutes each).  This highly interactive and engaging program uses activities and discussion to help participants understand the difference between mental health and mental illness, as well as everything in between.  This is important when we try to help people who may be struggling with mental health challenges and/or mental illness. By having a better understanding of the differences, we can get them to the appropriate resources for help.  The program also makes talking about mental health and mental illness more comfortable and less intimidating.  (3 Hours)

Behind Happy Faces Mental Health Workshop: This 90-minute version of the curriculum cuts out some of the content and activities, but still gives participants some of the key concepts and information. If time is limited and the 3-hour version is not possible, this is a less comprehensive but still effective option.  (90 Minutes)

Stress Management and Self Care – Learn how to recognize the warning signs of chronic stress and anxiety, how to manage stress and anxiety with self-care, and the difference between negative and positive coping skills. (1 hour)

Time Management – Reflect on how we prioritize our time and learn to lead with our values. This workshop will provide concrete task management skills and motivation strategies, and highlight the importance of saying “no” for self-care. (1 hour)

Intro to Mindfulness and Meditation – Meditation has scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety, enhance sleep, increase ability to focus, improve mood, and overall boost our wellbeing. Participants will be guided through a mindful meditation and learn skills to cultivate their own mindfulness practice.  (1 hour)

Building Resilience – Strengthen the ability to cope with the stressors of everyday life, particularly those faced by college students. This workshop will review actionable strategies to overcome adversity and create small but meaningful change. (1 hour)

Eating for Energy: This workshop focuses on how to optimize your diet for ultimate college success. This covers the basics of nutrition, how to increase your energy, caffeine and sugar warnings and the importance of eating breakfast. (1 hour)

Healthy Eating on a Budget: This workshop focuses on how to choose healthy foods to sustain your energy throughout the day. It will also teach you how to shop for healthy foods and snacks that won’t break your budget! A trip to the market can be requested. (1 hour)

Positive Body Image: This workshop offers information and discussion on positive body image. Learn how to appreciate your body — your partner for life! (1 hour)
